CV  Lieve Geuens - soprano
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

Lieve Geuens was born in Antwerp(Belgium) but lives since her childhood in The Netherlands. Since she was 6 years old she played the violin. After she studied History of Art at the University of Utrecht she took up singing and went to the Conservatory where she got two degrees cum laude:for pop and jazz singing and for classic singing.
 

Nowadays she is a teacher on the Conservatory of Utrecht where she works with the different techniques of singing both classic and jazz/pop.
 

Lieve has worked with various international artists in jazz and pop repertoire and worked a lot for cd-production and television. She also toured with a jazzrock formation and a brazilian band for some years. She still works with jazzimprovisation although the last years most of het attention is for the opera music.
 

Lieve has studied classic singing with different teachers: Gabriëlle Boré, Eugenie Ditewig, Takako Hara, Cora Cannemeyer, Udo Reineman, Rachel Ann Morgan and Pedro Paolo Neves in Paris. She worked with different operaorganisations: Skon, Iocn, Opera Nova.   

She is asked often as a soloist and works freelance for the choir of the Dutch Opera (Stopera). She has her own operatrio
HET TOSCA EET SLAKKEN ZONDER ZOUT PROJECT and recently she has made an opera for children; de kinderopera: MARQUERITE.  Vanaf november 2008 is Lieve werkzaam als docente aan het conservatorium in Amsterdam.
